Isolation can be lonely, but we are lucky that we are not isolating alone. We have our families to isolate with. Some of the loneliest people in our communities are seniors that live alone. Many senior citizens live in group communities, but because of the dangers of COVID-19 they are being isolated alone in their private rooms instead of being able to mingle with each other in common areas of their communities. This week, let’s celebrate them, by sending them a thoughtful letter or some artwork.
How to Write A Letter
What to Write
There is no “right” thing to write, but if you are having trouble getting started, here are some possible topics to write about:
Tell them:
- about a favorite trip you enjoyed
- about your favorite sports/hobbies
- about some fun things you have been doing at home
- a little about your family
- what your favorite subject in school is
- you hope they are doing well and finding fun things to do
- something fun for them to watch on TV or play with a deck of cards
- you wish them a good day/week
