Did you know that there is a huge clothing center inside Marshall High School (3905 SE 91st Ave) providing free clothing to our low-income PPS children?
This PTA-sponsored clothing center provides warm winter coats, shoes, new socks and underwear, jeans, and much more for PPS kids and families who otherwise cannot easily afford clothing. Currently, the Center is serving 35-50 PPS (one day there were 90!) students daily.
Each Monday and Thursday morning the clothing center lobby fills with families and groups of students waiting their turn to go through the racks and pick out items for themselves. We are looking for 2-3 people who can volunteer for 2 hours as “Personal Shoppers” and clothing sorters to help these families and children get all the assistance they need while shopping for their clothing. This is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling experience for our volunteers and one that will help enhance local children’s lives.
Please contact Richmond PTA at [email protected], if you are interested in volunteering with other Richmond parents on Monday October 17th between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
Even if you can only come for one hour, your help will be appreciated!
